In 2018, Kaity and Roberto Galvez took over LJ’s Deli in Terra Linda that had been home to Sub Hut since 1969. The Marin natives enjoyed hearing stories from their customers about their favorite sandwiches throughout the years—so much so, when the owner of Perry’s Delicatessen, Bob Schilling approached them to see if they were interested in purchasing his venerable downtown San Rafael institution, they said yes.

One of a handful of Marin businesses over 100 years old, the original family-owned deli had been operated by generations of Schilling’s over the years. Just like the Schilling family, Kaity comes from a long line of of San Rafael High Alumni, sharing 3 generations worth of memories around this San Rafael staple. 

Kaity and Roberto are honored to keep this piece of Marin history alive, carrying over Perry's old school favorites while incorporating unique seasonal flavors, creating a family-focused atmosphere for the community to enjoy.
